The Gecko is fully approved by the Department of Health WA (DoH WA). It is easy to be installed by a licensed Plumber.
Highest quality components are used in the manufacturing process, hence an extensive Manufacturers warranty of 24 months is provided to the unit and pump and 12 months to the irrigation and electrical components.
The single fixture Gecko recycles the greywater from your laundry or bathroom for subsurface irrigation in your garden.
Greywater enters the unit from your fixture and is pumped out through a 40 Mesh Disc Filter which captures all the debris such as lint and hair. The disc filter is positioned outside the unit above ground for very easy maintenance.
Health Department regulations require Greywater not be stored for more than 24 hours. The Gecko is fitted with an automatic 24hr timer which will turn the pump on and empty the unit of any water at least once a day.
The Gecko comes complete with 25 metres of poly header pipe as well as 20 metres of subsurface dripperline, both lilac coloured to signify that greywater is in use, and all necessary irrigation fittings.
Normal domestic power supply of single phase 240V, 10 amps is all that is required to run the Gecko.
In periods of heavy rain the Gecko can simply be turned off and the greywater will flow through to the main sewer
The Gecko must be installed by a licensed plumber.
The owner must check with Local or State Authority for approval to install.
Western Australia: An application for approval to install each DGU shall be in the form of an application to install an apparatus as required under the Health (Treatment of Sewage and Disposal of Effluent and Liquid Waste) Regulations 1974.
Each application for installation shall be made to the Local Government and include full plans and specifications, a completed Application to Construct or Install an Apparatus for the Treatment of Sewage form, and payment of all fees as prescribed.
