One Earth Outlet is the culmination of a dream to do something positive about our planet’s growing environmental nightmare.

The dream comes from a group of tradesman who have been involved in the solar hot water industry for as much as 27 years individually, and a combined total of more than 100 years. The existing company has been trading since 1st July 2000 specialising in Solar Hot Water Systems, and we have been the largest distributor in Australia for the two suppliers we initially represented. In order to continue chasing our goal of increasing the uptake of solar hot water systems, in August 2006 we offered our services to solar manufacturers Australia-wide and we now feature the widest range of solar hot water systems under one roof.

At this time the new company name of One Earth Outlet was born, and the full concept of a Green Supplier - supported by a team of experienced tradesmen - was developed. With the advantage of having fully licensed plumbers and gas fitters as sales consultants and installers, time and effort was put into obtaining practical plumbing products such as rain water and grey water tanks and systems, water saving products, valves, pumps, water treatment products and water generators. With one of the business partners being a fully licensed, BCSE-approved* electrical contractor we also decided to promote the highly efficient Conergy range of sustainable energy products including solar photovoltaic cells.

We relocated to our new premises in Balcatta in February 2007, and undertook the policy of practising what we preach by installing a Conergy 1.5Kw Photovoltaic solar system to subsidise our power supply. We also connected up One Earth Outlet to Synergy's Natural Power ensuring that all of our energy is guaranteed to be sourced from 100% sustainable power such as solar or wind.

For the feminine touch, the ladies from our group of families were eager to get involved in the business by accessing and choosing a wide range of sustainable living products. Local suppliers of high-quality, environmentally-friendly home and personal products were favoured but, where the range was limited and the options unavailable locally, it was decided to minimise the carbon footprint of introducing these products from outside the state by buying in bulk to ensure transporting the goods was more energy effective. This also has the advantage of ensuring that lower prices are able to be passed on to our One Earth Outlet customers.

Our families eagerly trial and test our products to ensure that they are good enough for us and therefore, more importantly, good enough for you. Many people are slow to change, and the easier the transition to a more eco-friendly lifestyle the more effective the process.
